2018 Excellent Adventure end to end test, version 4

I spent a good part of today researching walking tours in Prague and Berlin. I downloaded Rick Steve's free app for Europe. It includes walking tours and other good info. The walking tour for Prague is about 3 hours.

I also found this link  for "BigBoy Travel" - it has detailed info for a self-guided walking tour of the Jewish quarter, including several synagogues, a couple of kosher restaurants, and a statue of Kafka. Looking forward to hunting down the Golem. Not so much for the Holocaust exhibit. I will be taking a break while Andy does that one.

And I also ordered actual physical maps for Prague and Berlin. The last time we would have needed such a thing was 2014 in Paris, and we figured we'd just get by with Google maps. Which we did - Google maps will work with cellular data turned off - but still awkward when trying to see the area in general.

Anyway, this test includes adding photos by accessing blogspot from my phone. Not a great solution, but perhaps the simplest.

Here we go. Can you see it? If you do, what is it?

2018 End to End Test, version 2

Ok so this time, I'm just using my regular computer - my macbook pro on Mac OS version 10.13.4

Photo #1 - from my iphone

Photo #2 - uploaded from my hard drive (this photo is of my grandparents (Harry and Sophie Adler), my dad (little boy on the right at about 6 years old) and my aunt Ruth (little girl on the left at about 3)

Which of these do you see?

2018 End-to-End Testing (Excellent Adventure edition)

For whatever reason, Google has discontinued the Blogger app - or, at the very least, it doesn’t have an update for iOS 11.

It wasn’t working too well on last year’s vacation anyway. Last summer I had resorted to bringing up blogspot in safari on my iPad. But even that hadn’t worked very well - the interface was distorted and there was no way add photos.

So I decided an early end-to-end test, in case I need to find some other work around. Better now than in Prague.

I am so glad I decided to do this now - it has taken me two days to figure out how to upload a photo in this post. The solution is a contorted series of steps involving uploading the photo to google drive, turning on URL sharing, and then copying the URL into a hyperlink. Piece of cake!

I don’t understand why it won’t pull photos directly from Google Photos.

Anyway - where are we going on Excellent Adventure 2018 edition? We’re trying a river cruise for the first time, from Prague to Berlin. This is our itinerary:

Why this particular itinerary? I was reading a book that took place in Prague. Hmmm. Prague. I’ve always wanted to go there.

And Berlin! We had been there for 6 crazy hours a few years ago on the Balkan cruise. It’s the only time that we’ve visited a port on a cruise and knew we had to go back to spend more time.

A river cruise seemed like a great way to connect the two. We’re also adding on a couple of days in both cities.

Still a couple of months away - which is basically right around the corner.

I’m so excited I figured out how to do the photo thing, here’s a photo of a Mother’s Day tulip, just because:

Adding another photo as a test. Can you see this now?

Excellent Adventure 2018 Day 13 - The Final Crunch To See All The Things

Well, this was it - our last full day in Berlin. Which meant, of course, we had to squeeze in as much as possible. Today's itinerary: ...
